As far as moving to Mexico is concerned, there's no right or wrong ansewr--just what's right for your family. There may be ways to make it work in Mexico.

If you're interested, I'm a part of a a group on facebook facing all kinds of immigration challenges, and I believe there's another one starting for those moving to Mexico, thanks to deportation or waiting out bans. I am US Citizen ...I think what you did was awesome! I am US Citizen and my husband was deported 1 month ago. He is currently in Tijuana, where we are trying to figure out what we should do. He was birth in Michocan, but has lived in the USA.for the last 20 years. He does have family in Michoacan and I am trying to decide if and how I can legally move to mexico to be with my husband.
I drive to Tijuana this last weekend for the fourth of July Weekend, thinking we would be celebrating in Mexico this year. My husband, not even aware, because he had been in the US so long, didn't even realize that in Mexico the fourth of July is not celebrated because it isn't their independence day. It's ok, though at least my daughter and myself were able to spend 4 days with my husband. I would drive 8 hours every weekend if I could afford it, just to spend the weekend with him. I miss him so much. It's been 7 months since he had been taken from our lives.
But good for you keeping the holiday going for the ones that are so use to it and now don't have it.... I think it's awesome that you threw a 4th of July party for your gringo friends. Now you have a group of friends with whom to celebrate all of your favorite American holidays, like Thanksgiving! :) Leslie Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12084393882026836564noreply@blogger.com
